Real Sociedad Coach Eusebio Sacristan has heaped praise on the achievements of Eibar ahead of the side’s La Liga clash on Tuesday evening.
Eibar sit seventh in the league standings – two places and six points off high-flying La Real – and have won four of their last five outings, scoring 14 goals and keeping three clean sheets in the process.
“Eibar? What can I say? They deserve so much credit for what they have done this season and their long-term achievements, it's remarkable,” said Eusebio at his pre-match press conference ahead of the all-Basque fixture.
“They have very clear ideas and plans, they do not rely on one player or even on several, it is the mentality and approach not just of the players or coaches but the club as a whole.
“I am of the opinion that in football your results are generally those you deserve and that was the case with us for our win at Las Palmas and largely throughout the season.
“Of course (goalkeeper) Gero Rulli’s performance was fantastic and decisive, I was very pleased with him and he gives me and the players peace of mind.”
