Sergio Ramos has hit out at international teammate Gerard Pique, stating "we already know about Pique's world, where everything's a plot against him.”
Barcelona defender Pique took to twitter to criticise referee Jesus Gil Manzano who controversially awarded Real Madrid a penalty for an alleged handball by Villarreal’s Bruno Soriano in the league leader’s pulsating 3-2 win on Sunday evening.
"I would be surprised if it was (Lionel) Messi (who wrote the tweet),” said Ramos when questioned after his side’s win.
"We already know about Pique's world, where everything's a plot against him.
"The referees have a difficult job, we have to try and make them more comfortable. Referees sometimes give you and others take away, but you have to be prepared for everything.
"We are not going to get into these issues because it will not change anything, the three points will be added and we will continue to be first."
Cristiano Ronaldo converted from the spot to level the match for Zinedine Zidane’s side before Alvaro Morata’s late winner saw them return to the top of La Liga.
