Toni Kroos explained how Real Madrid pulled off their game plan for defeating Napoli, but believes 3-1 ‘is not a perfect result’ for Zinedine Zidane’s side.
Madrid were shocked in the 8th minute when Lorenzo Insigne caught Keylor Navas cold with a long range strike but goals from Karim Benzema, Kroos and Casemiro gave Los Blancos the advantage going into next month’s second leg.
“Our aim was to pressure them high up the pitch, especially their defence and we did that,” Kroos explained to reporters after the match.
“If you manage to do what you wanted to do, of course you’re happy after the game.
“But we know that whilst this is a good result, it is not a perfect result.
“Nothing is decided for the second leg and it will be very tough in Napoli.”
