James Rodriguez has committed his future to Real Madrid after stating he wanted to stay at the Bernabeu ‘for many years’.
There had been speculation over the Colombian star’s future after he admitted he found his lack of playing time under Zinedine Zidane frustrating, with rumours that he would leave the club this summer if the situation did not change.
“I thought about it a lot but Real Madrid is a club where I always wanted to be – I’ve always dreamt of being here,” James told reporters after his side’s 3-1 win over Napoli, in which he excelled.
“So I want to stay here for many years.”
The 25-year-old has started only four La Liga fixtures for Los Blancos this season, and has featured in 20 matches overall.
