Benzema set for new Madrid deal

Karim Benzema will be offered a new contract by Real Madrid in the summer to extend his deal at the Bernabeu until 2021 or 2022, say reports in Spain.

AS state the French striker – who’s current deal expires in June 2019 – has come under fire from the Spanish press and Madrid fans this season following a series of under-par performances.

Benzema currently earns €8m per season after signing a new deal with Los Blancos in 2014, having initially joined the club from Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais in 2009.

Whilst the report does not specify the details of the deal including wages and length, it does state the new deal will take him to either 2021 or 2022.

The 29-year-old is in his eighth season with Real Madrid, netting a total of 173 goals across 344 appearances.
