Ramos has ‘burnt bridges’ with Sevilla

Sevilla president Jose Castro has waded into the ongoing Sergio Ramos feud by stating the Real Madrid captain ‘has burnt his bridges’ with the Andalucian club.

The 30-year-old – who left the Sanchez Pizjuan for Real Madrid in 2005 – drew the wrath of Rojiblancos fans when he scored a panenka penalty before cupping his ears to the home support, who replied with derogatory chants.

Three days later, he returned to the stadium and again had a decisive impact – this time scoring an own goal before a late collapse saw Madrid lose their record unbeaten run.

"I'm shocked the Sevilla president doesn't publicly oppose their violent fans,” Ramos said at the weekend.

However, whilst the president acknowledged the defender is an ‘extraordinary player’ but criticised his recent words and actions.

"He is an extraordinary player, who left a great club and is now at Real Madrid,'' Castro is quoted as saying to Marca.

"But he has to dedicate himself to play at his club, and not to advise a president of a former club how he should behave.

"There were insults towards Sergio, but he has burnt his bridges.''
