Las Palmas agree Calleri move

Las Palmas are confident of a deal to sign striker Jonathan Calleri this transfer window but are reportedly pessimistic about the arrival of Jese Rodriguez.

Club president Miguel Angel Ramirez reveals the 23-year-old striker – who is on a season-long loan at West Ham United from Uruguay's Deportivo Maldonado – is yet to start a Premier League game this season and has been involved in negotiations with Las Palmas since the start of the month.

"West Ham asked us for one more day but I'm convinced he will arrive," Ramirez admitted regarding a deal for the striker to AS.

Calleri scored his first goal for Slaven Bilic’s side on Saturday against Middlesbrough but is expected to be Los Amarillos first reinforcement in the winter transfer window.

However, reports across the Spanish press now believe the side from the Gran Canaries are thought to have given up on Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez due to being unable to afford his wages in any proposed loan deal.
