Hernandez ‘hours’ from Malaga move

Leicester City full-back Luis Hernandez will join Malaga ‘in the coming hours’ according to reports in the Spanish media.

The Madrid-native left Sporting Gijon last summer to join the English champions but has featured in only seven matches as he failed to cement his place in Claudio Ranieri’s side, and now the Foxes are willing to sanction his sale to the Costa del Sol club.

Marca report that the deal will be complete ‘in the coming hours’ while El Desmarque report that a deal has already been done to make the 27-year-old the club’s third January signing following the signing of Adalberto Penaranda and Martin Demichelis.

Malaga sporting director Francesc Arnau reportedly made the Leicester City defender his number one transfer target this summer and the player is now expected to undergo his medical, although reports are inconclusive over whether the deal is temporary or permanent.

Hernandez made 139 appearances across four seasons for Sporting.
