Valencia coach Voro has confirmed the club are hopeful of signing Juventus striker Simeone Zaza in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old was on loan at English side West Ham United earlier in the season but failed to find the net in any of his eleven appearances, prompting a recall to Turin.
"Our idea is to bring a striker," Superdeporte quoted Gonzalez as saying.
"We are interested in Zaza and he is a real option. Things take time and our club is working on it.
"We are trying to get him to come as soon as possible. It's a difficult market, but whoever arrives will do so with the idea of improving the team."
The former Atalanta and Sampdoria striker signed for the Italian champions in 2015 after emerging as a star for Sassuolo, but featured in only 19 league matches, scoring five goals.
Any deal to Los Che looks likely to be a loan move, with a compulsory option to buy in the summer in the region of €15m.
