James ‘ready’ for Leganes

James Rodriguez is available for selection for Real Madrid to play against Leganes despite missing the midweek trip to Legia Warsaw with a groin injury.

It comes less than a month after the Champions League winners were in dispute with the Colombian Football Federation after he was called up for international duty despite carrying an injury, although he did not play a minute for Colombia.

“They need to relax. I am fine and I am back training – it was only something minor”, James explained in an interview with RCN.

“I wanted to play in the Champions League, but I have to be intelligent. When you feel something you have to stop a little.

“I spoke to the medical staff and I sat out a day, but now I’m training and I’ll be ready for the weekend.”

Real Madrid are two points clear of Barcelona at the top of the standings, while Leganes sit one point and two places above the relegation zone.
