James and Marcelo out of Legia trip

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has excluded both James Rodriguez and Marcelo from his squad for Wednesday’s game with Legia Warsaw.

Los Blancos face the Poles in a Champions League Group F encounter that will be played behind closed doors, and the Frenchman has also caused a surprise with a call-up for reserve team defender Alvaro Tejero after some impressive displays this season.

Madrid will travel to Eastern Europe on Tuesday and are due to hold a training session in the Polish Army Stadium during the afternoon.

Zidane still has Luka Modric, Casemiro and Sergio Ramos sidelined through injury and central defender Pepe has added to the list of those unavailable after suffering a hamstring strain in the weekend defeat of Alaves. The Brazilian is expected to be out for up to six weeks.

Los Blancos go into the clash tied with Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table on seven points after two wins and a draw, while Legia are bottom having failed to register a point.

Real Madrid squad to face Legia Warsaw:

Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Casilla, Ruben Yanez.
Defenders: Carvajal, Varane, Nacho, Coentrao, Danilo, Tejero.
Midfielders: Kroos, Kovacic, Asensio, Isco.
Forwards: Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale, Lucas Vazquez, Mariano, Morata.
