‘We must stick to our path’ – Gabi

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has called for calm and for the side to ‘stick to our path’ after his side’s loss at Sevilla.

A second-half strike from Steven N’Zonzi inflicted the first defeat of the campaign on Los Rojiblancos, who slipped from top of the league to fifth.

"In the first half the team had the chances to go ahead," Gabi told beIN Sports after the match.

"If you are not decisive in these evenly balanced games then in the end you pay for it. The team played the same way as always, but we are leaving annoyed with the defeat.

"You must congratulate Sevilla – they won as they were better in front of goal. We just move on, stick to our path, and aim to win the next game."

The club captain was also asked about the strike pairing of Kevin Gameiro and Antoine Griezmann, who have now gone three games without a goal.

"We are not worried about that," Gabi declared.

"They understand that the team is the most important. They are working hard for the team, and the goals will come."
