Chicharito welcome back – RM board

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez would be welcomed back at Real Madrid, according to two board members at the Bernabeu.

Fox Sports Mexico were questioning Los Blancos board members Santiago Aguado and Manuel Cerezo about the Bayer Leverkusen’s striker season-long spell in Madrid,

"Yes, I would like that," Aguado replied when asked if he would want to see the 28-year-old striker back at the club.

"We believe he is a great player."

When asked if Hernandez – who scored 9 goals in 33 appearances for the club during his loan spell from Manchester United in the 2014/15 season – had been given enough time to prove himself at the Bernabeu, another board member believed that he had not.

"Chicharito did not fully succeed at Real Madrid," Cerezo said.

"But players need time to adapt, at Madrid you cannot do it overnight. He had a chance to go to Bayer and is doing very well there."

The striker has recently been linked to both Valencia and Sevilla, while Real Madrid are banned from signing any players until January 2018.
