Courtois predicts Spain return

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed he wishes to return to Spain one day, two years after rejoining the London club from Atletico Madrid.

Courtois, speaking in a wide-ranging interview with Marca, reiterated that his contract with Chelsea still had a further three years to run and that the time for any future decision would come then.

"I still love Spain for the way Madrid is and the entire country," said the Belgian goalkeeper, who has recently been linked to Real Madrid.

"I loved Spain from the start for the food, the people, the way of life – I still have a siesta every day!

"When I left Spain I knew I'd return one day, though I have a contract until 2019 here.

"We will make a decision on whether I leave Chelsea or sign a new renewal whenever we enter the final year in 2018.

"I don't know anything about it (alleged interest from Real Madrid) apart from what I hear in the papers.

"Real Madrid showed me a very nice gesture when I my knee last year – they sent me a fax to wish me a speedy recovery."
