Jese tells Emery: ‘I am no substitute’

New PSG signing Jese Rodriguez has told manager Unai Emery he is not willing to sit on the bench for the club this season.

Jese joined the Parisians this summer in a £21m deal from Real Madrid and the forward has voiced his displeasure at not being guaranteed a starting role in Paris.

"Cavani is a great player, but I am no substitute," the 23-year-old told Le Parisien.

"I came here with a desire to play football in every game, although I know there are great players in Paris.

"I have great character and I like to progress quickly, it's up to me to prove I can be a starter."

The former Madrid player was subbed off before the hour mark against Saint-Etienne on Friday, his first league start for his new club.
