Sevilla wanted Ziyech and Rudy

Sevilla were interested in signing Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech and Hoffenheim's Sebastian Rudy this summer.

Ziyech eventually joined Ajax from FC Twente in a 15 million euros move, while Rudy remained in the Bundesliga.

However, FC Twente director Jan van Halst revealed that Sevilla had been in contact with the Dutch club over a possible move.

"We had contact with a number of clubs, either directly or through intermediaries, with regards to Ziyech before his move," van Halst stated.

"Sevilla and Roma were two of the clubs interested, but they did not meet our conditions for a transfer."

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Hoffenheim midfielder Rudy has confirmed that Sevilla were interested in signing him over summer but he chose to stay at his current club.

The set-piece specialist is now into the last year of his contract in Germany, leaving him free to negotiate with other clubs in January.
