Neymar is the second best player in the world behind Lionel Messi according to Albert Soler, FC Barcelona's Club Director of sporting institutional relations.
Soler made the claim in this morning's press conference, where he also highlighted how the club had enjoyed a very productive summer.
"Neymar is the second best player in the world (behind Messi)", Soler stated.
"It is important to remember that alongside our signings, we renewed his (Neymar's) contract, along with Javier Mascherano and Sergio Busquets.
"We feel we have the best squad in the world – one that is capable of both winning titles and exciting our fans.
"Without wishing to express euphoria so early on, everybody at the club is excited about the season ahead."
He also praised the quality of signings over the course of the summer, stating that it was in line with the club's objectives.
"We explained before that we would be spending 60m euros plus sales – which equates to what has happened," explained Soler.
"We also stated that if an opportunity arose (Andre Gomes) we would sign them, providing they improved our squad.
