Barcelona have allowed Olympic gold medal winner Neymar to stay in Brazil slightly longer than planned and the forward won’t return until September.
Sport reports that after a conversation between Neymar and Luis Enrique it was decided the best option would be for Neymar to remain in Brazil this week, as he has to join up with the national team on Monday and would have faced travelling to Spain and back to Brazil in a short window.
Neymar wasn’t going to feature in the weekend’s game against Athletic Bilbao anyway as he has an ankle problem and is now due to return to Catalonia on September 8, after two games with the senior Brazil side following the Under-23s’ Olympic success.
