Barca move for Cillessen?

Jasper Cillessen has reportedly begun bidding farewell to his Ajax teammates as the €12m-rated goalkeeper is “very close” to joining Barcelona.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Cillessen has told his Ajax colleagues that “Barca want me” after being “anointed” as Claudio Bravo’s successor.

The newspaper explains La Blaugrana the 27-year-old has beaten off competition from Diego Alves and Pepe Reina among others thanks to his “experience, attacking style and very good footwork”.

Bravo, meanwhile, is set to make his final appearance for the club on Saturday against Real Betis ahead of his proposed switch to Manchester City.

Barca do not foresee developments in either move until Monday, although both sets of negotiations are said to be “very advanced” and could progress before then.
