Diego Maradona believes new Argentina boss Edgardo Bauza will fail to persuade Lionel Messi out of international retirement.
Bauza travelled to Barcelona on Wednesday with the intention of convincing Messi back into Argentina reckoning, but Maradona feels the institutional problems “exposed” by the No 10’s retirement will put pay to the Coach’s efforts.
“I think Messi will say ‘no’ to Bauza. That’s what I think, although I may be wrong,” the Albiceleste legend told Radio La Red.
“What’s happened with Messi exposes [what’s been going on behind the scenes for] a lifetime.
“How is it that the families of the [AFA] leaders are more comfortable than those of the players?”
