Valencia have completed the signing of former Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya on a four-year contract.
Montoya arrives on a free transfer, having been released by Barca beforehand, and promised “to sacrifice myself, deliver and take Valencia back to where they should be” upon putting pen to paper.
The right-back, 24, failed to convince Luis Enrique of his worth, despite the Catalans’ lack of players in his position, and spent either half of last season on loan at Inter and Real Betis.
He replaces Antonio Barragan, who left for Middlesbrough last month, and will join up with his new teammates in England on Wednesday.
