Jorge Sampaoli has ruled himself out of the running to become the next Argentina Coach as “it would be irresponsible for me to leave Sevilla at this time”.
Sampaoli’s lawyer Fernando Baredes confirmed on Thursday that the Coach was “eager” to fill the Argentina vacancy, but the 56-year-old made it clear he would not abandon Sevilla so early into his premiership.
“I had a call from the President of Argentina, which filled me with pride, but dreams don’t always come at the right time,“ he was quoted as saying by AS.
“Now my dream is to win with Sevilla. I’d love to coach the Argentine national team [one day and I always have, but now it’d be irresponsible for me to leave Sevilla at this time.”
