Zidane reactivates Pogba to Madrid

Zinedine Zidane is again pushing Real Madrid to sign Paul Pogba and Pogba wants to join, but might be too expensive.

AS reports Pogba is in contact with Zidane, even though he appeared close to leaving Juventus for Manchester United, but it’s suggested the France international isn’t entirely sold on a return to Old Trafford.

Zidane is understood to have asked Pogba for more time to allow Madrid to get their house in order and find the €100m+ it would take to get him from Turin, but the insistence of James Rodriguez in staying at Santiago Bernabeu has made that an issue.

Pogba would also get a €13m salary from United but Madrid would be reluctant to go past €10m, the same pay packet Gareth Bale commands, and the commission of agent Mino Raiola, some €20m, is also a sticking point.

United manager Jose Mourinho has hinted at not only his interest in Pogba but also other options and reports from Britain name the alternatives as Blaise Matuidi and Nemanja Matic.

Zidane meanwhile is said to be concerned Madrid will miss out on a big name who could add to the squad, and it’s missing out on Valencia’s Andre Gomes – who is to sign for Barcelona – that has triggered the Coach’s renewed insistence.
