Borja Mayoral will meet up with Real Madrid on Wednesday but it’s only a brief stop as he’ll go to new club Wolfsburg in a few days.
AS reports the terms of Mayoral’s move to Germany were agreed more than a week ago but the final details hadn’t been wrapped up, and so he is due in the capital first.
He’ll then on Saturday travel to Switzerland to meet up with Wolfsburg, Madrid hoping to follow the example of Dani Carvajal, who spent time in the Bundesliga before returning to Santiago Bernabeu with more experience.
Wolfsburg are spending the first part of pre-season at Bad Ragaz, a resort in St. Gallen, and Zinedine Zidane is a fan of Mayoral and wants him to get minutes at his new club so he can return in future.
Mayoral’s first Wolfsburg appearance is likely to be on July 29, when his new team meet Sporting Lisbon in a friendly.
