Madrid want Rodriguez in Mayoral deal?

Real Madrid reportedly want first option on Ricardo Rodriguez in the deal that takes teenage striker Borja Mayoral to Wolfsburg.

According to AS, Wolfsburg will not agree to a season-long loan for Mayoral if there is no option for a permanent transfer next summer.

“[The deal for] Borja Mayoral isn’t closed yet,” Klaus Allofs, sporting director of the German club, told Kicker.

“We’re in talks because he’s a great player who had brilliant performances in the Youth League [last season] and Madrid’s youth teams.”

Consequently, Madrid may ask for preferential treatment in negotiations for Rodriguez, were Wolfsburg to sell the player, with a €25m fee being mooted.

The Switzerland international has a Spanish father, who is on record as saying his son “has always dreamt of playing in Spain”, and Los Blancos are said to have long held an interest in the left-back.
