Madrid abandon Pogba pursuit?

Real Madrid have reportedly pulled out of the race for Paul Pogba, leaving the path clear for Manchester United to buy back the Juventus midfielder.

According to Sky Sports, Florentino Perez has withdrawn Madrid’s interest after refusing to match United’s €123m bid or their offer of a five-year contract worth €75m.

The British broadcaster adds Madrid will now target Valencia’s Andre Gomes, the Portuguese soon to be “the subject of a €50m bid” from Los Blancos.

Pogba would become Jose Mourinho’s fourth summer signing and the third Raiola client after Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to arrive at Old Trafford.
