Reports in France claim Carlo Ancelotti wants to be reunited with Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane at Bayern Munich.
AS cites Le Parisien in saying the France international is one of Ancelotti’s priorities as he replaces Pep Guardiola in Germany, having worked with Varane in his two years at Santiago Bernabeu.
Ancelotti reportedly considers Varane the best young centre-back in Europe but it wouldn’t be easy getting him out of Madrid as Zinedine Zidane is a big fan as well and doesn’t want the club to consider letting Varane leave.
Varane for his part has spoken of his desire to establish himself at the Bernabeu among competition from Sergio Ramos and Pepe.
