Sevilla President Jose Castro hailed Jorge Sampaoli as a ‘born winner’ after the former Chile Coach was confirmed as Unai Emery’s successor.
Emery is headed to Paris Saint-Germain after Laurent Blanc’s departure from the Ligue 1 champions was confirmed and with Emery’s future essentially settled, Los Rojiblancos have been able to appoint a successor.
“My first impressions are good for the enthusiasm he generates. He’s a professional jumping to Europe to succeed. He’s a born winner. He’s loved by everyone for making Chile a champion, he’s the in-demand Coach in South America and so I have to be excited. My enthusiasm is generated by his huge desire to succeed in Europe,” the club’s official website reports the President saying.
“He’s a different kind of Coach. We could have chosen any other option but we’ve chosen the one that isn’t risky but it is risky because it’s brave, because we want to continue growing. A champion team has to find a champion Coach and that’s what we’ve tried to do.”
