Mou, Raiola ‘serious talks’ for Pogba

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and Mino Raiola, the agent of Real Madrid target Paul Pogba, have started ‘serious negotiations,’ it’s reported.

AS says Raiola and Mourinho have opened dialogue over the Juventus midfielder, who was on the books at Old Trafford prior to moving to Turin when he grew frustrated at not being given a chance in the first team.

Madrid are said to still be hopeful of landing Pogba though they have cooled after being told Juve would want a fee of €120m and Pogba himself would ask for €15m in wages, and those figures are the starting point for the discussions with the Red Devils.

AS adds that Pogba is a Zinedine Zidane project for Madrid and President Florentino Perez has never been a huge fan of the 23-year-old, but Zidane feels he needs Pogba to bring balance to his team.

There have though been reports in Italy that Juventus are preparing to offer Pogba a new contract to convince him to stay, the deal paying €4.5m in basic salary, with easy-to-reach bonuses taking him towards €6m until 2022, a three-year extension on his current deal.
