Jese set for loan after renewal?

Real Madrid will reportedly negotiate a contract extension with Jese Rodriguez in the next few days before listing him for loan.

Jese’s contract currently expires next summer, but AS claims Madrid see the forward in their long-term vision, even if their intention is to send him out on loan next season.

The forward’s agent Gines Carvajal is believed to be pushing for a contract in the region of three to four years, plus a minor rise on his incumbent €1.8m salary.

Despite the 23-year-old falling behind Lucas Vazquez in the second half of last season, Madrid are loathe to lose any attacking talent due to impending threat of a transfer ban and uncertainty over Karim Benzema’s future in light of his transgressions off the field.

Jese’s position at the Santiago Bernabeu has become more complex following the return of Alvaro Morata last week, although the striker has yet to speak to Coach Zinedine Zidane.

Espanyol have made their interest in the player public, while the likes of Las Palmas and Bayer Leverkusen are also understood to be in the race.
