Ramos backing David de Gea

After recent allegations of a sex scandal involving David de Gea emerged, Spain teammate Sergio Ramos insists the squad back the Manchester United stopper.

De Gea, Iker Muniain and possibly Real Madrid star Isco have been implicated in an alleged sexual abuse case against adult film entrepreneur Ignacio Allende, and the issue has been dominating La Roja´s build-up to the Euro 2016 finals in France.

Nonetheless, Ramos says the situation has not affected Vicente del Bosque´s men in any way as they prepare to defend the crown they won in Kiev four years ago.

“It´s not very nice news to receive, yet obviously when it affects a teammate then he needs all the support he can get from the entire squad, so we have to give him that,” the Real Madrid defender told reporters.

“Even so, we haven´t needed to come together as there has always been a great atmosphere here and we all have the same aims.

“Anyway, I ask the fans to back us regardless of what happens. We´ll give our all and do our best to leave here with our heads held high,” he maintained.
