Juve ready bid for Real Madrid man

Italian giants Juventus are ready to offer Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic a way out of the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The Croatian has struggled to make an impact at the Santiago Bernabeu since a €35m transfer from Inter Milan in August 2015, appearing in 25 La Liga games but starting just eight of them, and could possibly welcome a move to get his career back on track after a previously successful time in Italy.

According to Tuttosport, Juve are prepared to offer up to €20m for the 22-year-old, yet a stumbling block could be that Los Blancos want to recover a large slice of what they paid for him, meaning they are unlikely to listen to anything below the €25m mark.

The same publication reports that the Italian champions have opted for Kovacic because their initial first choices of Barcelona´s Javier Mascherano and Andre Gomes of Valencia are too expensive.

Apart from Juventus, other Serie A clubs are also showing interest, including his former team Inter, but Kovacic has recently intimated he would not fancy a return to the San Siro under boss Roberto Mancini.

However, it is understood that he would be open to offers from Milan, despite the Rossoneri not having qualified for European football next season.
