Iker Muniain has called for the support of Athletic Bilbao fans after branding allegations of his involvement in the Torbe scandal “absolutely false”.
Muniain was accused by a protected witness of sexual and physical assault, with David de Gea purported to have set the meeting up and Isco possibly involved, but the attacker followed his fellow Spaniards in swiftly denying any wrongdoing.
A message on his Twitter account read: “In light of the information appearing about me, I want to say:
“1. That the claims are absolutely false, 2. That in the coming days I will appoint a lawyer to defend my honour and 3. I hope all the fans who have supported me on the pitch trust me right now.”
