United close in on €30m Bailly?

Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of signing Villarreal defender Eric Bailly for €30m.

According to Cadena SER, a deal to take Bailly to United is in “its final phase”, while other reports in Spain have gone as far as to say that the Ivorian is undergoing a medical.

The Red Devils, who are now managed by former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, are also willing to pay €30m for the player, the radio station adds – some €24.5m more than what Villarreal paid Espanyol in January 2015.

Bailly was brought in as a replacement for Arsenal’s Gabriel Paulista and played a key role in the Yellow Submarine qualifying for the Champions League last season.
