Dani Alves has confirmed that he will join Juventus “in the next few days” but “maybe I’ll come back because I’m still a Barcelona fan”.
Barca announced Alves’ departure on Friday, the player then following up with an open letter to the club’s fans on Instagram, and the right-back is ready to “succeed in Europe” with Juve once he puts pen to paper imminently.
“I’m always happy, but now even more so. It was time to make a change,” he told Sportitalia.
“I won a lot with Barcelona. I enjoyed my time there, but it was time for new challenges. I want to enjoy [my time at] Juventus and succeed in Europe.
“In the next few days I’ll go to Turin to sign [my contract]. I’ve said goodbye to the fans of Barcelona, but it was a ‘see you later’, not a goodbye.
“I’ve come to Italy to win, and then maybe I’ll come back because I’m still a Barca fan.”
