The agent of Robert Lewandowski has confirmed that he has held talks with Real Madrid over a possible transfer for the Bayern Munich striker this summer.
Lewandowski has been heavily linked with Madrid for the past season, with his agent Cezary Kucharsky on record as describing the Santiago Bernabeu as an ideal destination for the Pole and reportedly being invited by Blancos President Florentino Perez to a match at the stadium last November.
“Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago and we’ve had several meetings,” the representative told Der Spiegel.
“They’re a big and exciting club and we’ve heard from them. Bayern have also informed us that there has been contact with Real Madrid.”
The 27-year-old scored 42 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern last term, while his contract continues to expire in 2019, despite claims he had agreed a renewal in March.
