Javi Gracia is to leave Malaga for Rubin Kazan, with the appointment to be confirmed shortly.
AS reports Gracia has on Tuesday told Malaga he is accepting the offer from Russia, which will see his wages increase almost tenfold to €4.5m a year.
Gracia only recently renewed at La Rosaleda, until 2019, and can be bought out of his contract for €1.2m, having first been linked with Rubin earlier in May.
Malaga have been preparing for Gracia to go and are considering approaching Juande Ramos to take over. Ramos was in charge at the club in 2003-04.
