‘Sevilla have no ceiling’

Sevilla President Jose Castro can’t see a ceiling on his team, but confirmed Europa League celebrations will wait until after the Copa del Rey Final.

Los Rojiblancos meet Barcelona in the domestic showpiece on Sunday at Vicente Calderon and though Castro was delighted with a third straight Europa League success, he wants the focus now on the Copa.

“We have a great squad and a magnificent coaching staff. We’re strong. No one has done what we have. This team has no ceiling,” Castro said post-match, AS reports.

“From now on, we think of the final in Madrid and we continue on the highway. We’ve stopped at a tollbooth, they have given us water in the form of the Cup, and now we go to Madrid.

“We are super happy. We, the 7,000 who came [to Basel] and those who were in Seville. The first half wasn’t good, but in the end we won the same as always. Hopefully we have two Cups on Sunday. We have a team that bends the budget and the trophies, but not in their hunger, their desire to win.

“Message to the fans? Enjoy it. The prodigious decade has been prolonged. There’ll be no celebration until Monday, because we’re playing for a new trophy. We expect a great opponent, who we respect, but don’t fear.”
