James non-transferrable, say Madrid?

James Rodriguez wants to leave Real Madrid this summer, but Los Blancos consider the midfielder “non-transferrable”, according to AS.

James has failed to convince both Rafa Benitez and Zinedine Zidane of a regular place in Madrid’s team this season, and the newspaper claims he is ready to discuss his future with the club’s hierarchy after the Champions League final on May 28.

However, President Florentino Perez is understood to retain confidence in the Colombia captain’s ability to find his form again, to the extent that he has already told the player that he is “non-transferrable”.

Madrid paid Monaco €80m for James in the summer for 2014, and the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly willing to reimburse Los Merengues in order to take him off their hands.
