Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has no doubt ‘the suffering was worth it’ against Bayern Munich.
Gabi was part of the team that overcame the Germans in the Champions League semi-final, to set up a match with Real Madrid on May 28, and is now targeting ‘history’ with Atleti.
“Bayern was the toughest opponent and the most difficult game. Luckily the suffering was worth it and we are in the final,” the skipper said, Marca reports.
“It’s a moment to make history for the club. We can be the first players to lift the European Cup. As an Atletico player and fan my message is that I have the luck to represent the fans on the pitch.”
