Real Madrid left-back Marcelo doesn’t see a favourite in the Champions League Final against Atletico Madrid.
Los Blancos confirmed the second all-Madrid final in two years by beating Manchester City, Atletico having progressed to the May 28 showpiece by knocking out Pep Guardiola’s Bayer Munich.
“There’s no favourite. Atletico work hard, have proven they’re a great team. We have a lot of respect for them,” Marcelo said post-match, AS reports.
“The fans deserved us going through and have rewarded the team. We’ve suffered, but we’re happy. Each season we think we’re going to reach the top. We’re ending La Liga well, but we’ve also needed a bit of luck.
“The whole team works, runs, fights, not only Cristiano Ronaldo, who also had a great game. He was magical.”
