Soldado: Third time lucky…

Roberto Soldado is hoping for ‘third time lucky’ as he prepares for Villarreal’s Europa League semi-final with Liverpool.

The striker recalled at the pre-match Press conference that he’s twice reached this same stage and both times fallen short, while the Yellow Submarine are also looking to end a disappointing run in the last four.

“For Villarreal to reach a final would be a great prize. It’s the dream we all have. We strongly believe in our chances, although we know it will be difficult,” Soldado added, AS reports.

“Liverpool are a very strong team physically, superior to us, but we have our chances to cause harm. They’re a very direct team when they have the ball. They’re a great team and that’s why they’re in a Europa League semi-final.

“We’re not under pressure. It’s a game that is the hope of the fans and the locker room. We need to all be at our best to get a result and that means everyone giving 100%. That hope must lead us to our highest level. We shouldn’t feel pressure, we should enjoy the moment with our fans.

“It’s a special game in which the people with more experience have to be attentive on the pitch, but this is a team game and we all have to be united from the start. I haven’t won either of the two Europa League semi-finals I’ve played and I hope that it’s third time lucky.”
