Danilo: I’m a Madrid soldier

Danilo admits the season has been a difficult one for him, but he ‘is a Real Madrid soldier’ and always will be.

The right-back was signed from Porto in the summer but has struggled to live up to expectations, and acknowledged as much after Los Blancos beat Villarreal 3-0 on Wednesday.

“It hasn’t been an easy season for me. The fans whistle those they think can give more. It’s true that I haven’t been at my best level but I work to convince people. I’m a Madrid soldier, I’ll always be there,” Danilo said, AS reports.

“Madrid never give up, we’re working hard. Difficulties come, but we’re in a good rhythm.”

Danilo touched on his relationship with Zinedine Zidane, and also commented on the perspective injury suffered by Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Cristiano is always good. He cares a lot. I don’t know anything and I’m sure he can be there for the weekend,” he said regarding the Portuguese.

“Zidane will make me a great player for Madrid. I have a six years on my contract and I hope to stay for many more. Madrid paid for me because they trusted my potential and I’m going to justify it.”
