Ancelotti warning for Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti has warned Real Madrid that “you don’t get a second chance” in the Champions League semi-finals, despite their comeback against Wolfsburg.

Los Blancos came back from 2-0 down to defeat Wolfsburg 3-2 in the quarter-finals, but Ancelotti insists his former club must get it right the first time when they lock horns with Manchester City in the last four.

“Zinedine Zidane and his players must carefully analyse the first leg at Wolfsburg because in the Champions League [semi-finals], you don’t get a second chance,” he told Sina Sports.

“If Real Madrid want to repeat their comeback [against Wolfsburg], it’ll be very difficult in the semi-finals. Still, they’re just three matches from La Undecima…

“They lived up to the expectations of their fans [by coming back against Wolfsburg], and Cristiano Ronaldo had an excellent match.

“Barca have once more showed how difficult it is to defend the Champions League, even if they have [Lionel] Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, but they’ve played 12 games more than their rivals.

“[Atletico Madrid] are an exemplary team and a model for their unity, solidarity and strict observance to tactical discipline.”
