Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has revealed that his club “are in contact” with Real Madrid starlet Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard has failed to kick on from his first-team cameo against Getafe on the final day of last season, despite the 17-year-old arriving amidst great fanfare from Stromsgodset in January 2015, and Marca claims Sammer’s latest remarks prove that Bayern are tracking the player.
“Of course we’re in contact, but that’s not up for debate,” he told Sky Sport Deutschland.
“His decision to sign for Madrid must be respected.
“He’s a great player, but we haven’t made any attempt to sign him.”
The Norwegian is currently a member of Los Blancos’ Castilla team and contracted at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2021.
