Marcelo: 90 minutes to recover

Marcelo is ready for a clutch 90 minutes when Real Madrid host Wolfsburg in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

Wednesday’s first leg saw the Germans take a shock 2-0 lead, with Los Blancos now banking on their home form to help them reach the semi-finals.

“We had chances, but we have also done some things wrong, but we have 90 minutes at the Bernabeu to turn this around,” Marcelo told reporters, according to AS.

“Penalty? I don’t know. Both theirs and ours, I don’t know if it was. The referee whistled for it and that’s what it is.

“The start of the match wasn’t as we wanted, and they have had the ball more. We’re going to fight to the end to overcome this result.

“They’ve had the counter-attacks, which were very strong, and we’ve paid for it. We can’t give up.

“[The second leg] will be another tough game but we are going to see what we have to do so we don’t get caught with the counter-attacks as we did here.”
