Ramos: Madrid better than Barca

Sergio Ramos has claimed that Real Madrid “are the best team in the world” ahead of Saturday’s Clasico against Barcelona.

Madrid head into the Camp Nou showdown 10 points behind Barcelona in La Liga with eight games remaining and out of the Copa del Rey due to an administrative error, while the Catalans due to face Sevilla in the final, but Ramos remains adamant his side are better than their all-conquering rivals.

“The rivalry has increased, and to score against them would be a bigger joy than scoring against another rival,” the defender told Bwin.

“The key to victory will be playing with maximum tranquillity, which is difficult when you’re facing such important forwards.

“At the end of the day, we’re the best team in the world playing against another team who in recent years have also been the best in nearly every competition.

“[On the ‘BBC’], they’re dangerous for their quality and that’s what makes them so decisive.

“[Keylor Navas] has adapted very well to replacing a Real Madrid legend in Iker [Casillas].

“One of the most important things is that [the goalkeeper] transmits security to his teammates.

“[Johan Cruyff] marked an era and a philosophy in this sport. He’ll always be remembered by all football purists.”
