Atletico Madrid defender Jose Maria Gimenez has refused to comment on speculation linking him with a summer transfer to arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Radio Marca reported on Thursday that Madrid had turned their attentions to Gimenez as they prepared to bolster their backline for next season.
However, its newspaper equivalent recorded the centre-back remaining silent on his way out of training when shown the story of his possible departure.
A group of Atleti fans were also in attendance and chanted “Gimenez, don’t leave” over the reporter.
