Casemiro: Clasico week special

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro admits the Clasico build-up is ‘special’ and vows the team will give everything to beat Barcelona.

The Brazilian has been mooted as an inclusion in Zinedine Zidane’s team to go to Camp Nou and spoke to reporters after training on Tuesday.

“We know it’s a special week for players, for the fans and for everyone,” he said, AS reports.

“It’s a game you want to play, that comes quickly and hopefully we can win it.”

Casemiro is one of the newer faces among the Madrid squad but says he is feeling more comfortable at the club, having spent last season at Porto.

“Every game and every day that passes, I feel more confident with the players, the Coach and the fans,” he acknowledged.

“They know I’m here to help everyone.”

Madrid were heavily beaten at Santiago Bernabeu by Barca in the first Clasico encounter of the season and Casemiro promised the players wouldn’t leave anything in reserve to avenge the defeat.

“We’re going to leave our soul on the field in this game,” he continued, in a message to Madrid fans.

“Keep trusting us because we are always going to keep working.”
