Barca Presidents to unite for Cruyff

All of Barcelona’s living Presidents will be in Camp Nou’s presidential box for the Clasico against Real Madrid on Saturday to pay tribute to Johan Cruyff.

The club have organised various events before kick-off at 19:30 BST to honour the memory of their legendary former player and Coach, who passed away last Thursday.

Indeed, former Presidents Agusti Montal, Raimon Carrasco, Josep Lluís Núnez, Joan Gaspart, Enric Reyna, Joan Laporta and Sandro Rosell will accompany current leader Josep Maria Bartomeu in the box at the Camp Nou as a show of unity for Cruyff.

The same eight Presidents also wrote a joint letter to thank the Dutchman for his services to Barca last Thursday.

Cruyff’s death has served to unite, if only for a few days, all of Barcelona Presidents, despite their historical differences, namely bringing together Josep Lluis Nunez and Joan Laporta, both of whom had clashed in 1998.

Barca’s board of directors, meanwhile, will reportedly meet on Tuesday to consider their posthumous tributes to Cruyff, which Sport believes will include the possibility of Camp Nou being renamed in his honour.
